Clumping, upright, stiff, warm season grass with blue-green leaves. Foliage begins to turn burgundy red in late spring and keeps that color until winter, when leaves fade to beige. Large panicles of finely-textured, red flowers emerge in fall and turn to rusty tan for winter color. Will spread slightly via rhizomes. Tolerant of drought, erosion, dry or wet soil, and air pollution.
