Dense, erect, clumping grass with slightly arching, variegated foliage. Blades of grass are green with a yellow stripe down the center. Greenish-mauve flowers rise above the foliage in June and turn to golden tan, sterile seeds that persist all winter. Prefers to stay moist while establishing. Tolerates erosion, clay soil, air pollution.
