Climbing vine that needs a structure to grow on. Afternoon shade preferred. Large, ruby red flowers with contrasting yellow anthers. Initial flush of blooms set on last year's growth in early summer. Prune after flowering for a second flush late summer. Deer and rabbit tolerant. Attracts butterflies and hummingbirds.
